Everything you need to get started with the University of Exeter Fencing Club.

Use the guide below to purchase your club membership and, if needed, your British Fencing membership.

How to Purchase UoEFC Membership

 

Follow the steps below to purchase your University of Exeter Fencing Club membership through University of Exeter Sport Online.

​

01 — Visit Sport Online

 

Go to University of Exeter Sport Online.

​

If you already have a University of Exeter Sport Online account, log in using your University account.

​

If you don't have an account:

​

  • Select “I am a UoE Student or Member (Member/Non-Member)”

  • Select the option to create an account

  • Enter your personal details

  • Activate your account using the confirmation email sent to you

  • Once your account has been activated, return to Sport Online and log in

​

02 — Find Membership Prices

 

Once you are logged in:

​

  1. Click “Membership Prices”.

  2. Under Site, select “Sports Park”.

  3. Click “Membership Category”.

  4. Find and select “UoE Fencing Club”.

  5. Scroll down until you see the different University of Exeter Fencing Club membership options.

03 — Choose Your Fencing Membership

 

You will now see the different University of Exeter Fencing Club membership options.

​

Find the membership that's right for you and click “Buy Now”.

04 — Check Your Cart

 

Once you've selected your membership:

​

  1. Click “Cart” in the top-right corner.

  2. Check that you have selected the correct membership.

  3. Make sure the price shown is correct.

​

If everything looks right, click “Checkout”.

​

​

05 — Complete Your Purchase

 

At checkout:

​

  1. Enter a promotion code if you have one.

  2. Double-check your membership and the total price.

  3. Click “Continue”.

  4. Read and agree to the Terms & Conditions by ticking the relevant box.

  5. Click “Pay Now”.

  6. Complete the payment process.

​

Once your payment has been successfully processed, your UoEFC club membership is complete!

Once you've purchased your membership, check our training timetable to find out when you can start fencing.

​

If you're a beginner, don't worry about having your own equipment — we provide the equipment you need for our beginner sessions.

How to Purchase the British Fencing Membership

 

British Fencing (BF) is the national governing body for fencing in Great Britain. Depending on what you want to do at UoEFC, you may need a British Fencing membership in addition to your University of Exeter Fencing Club membership.

​

Follow the steps below to create your account and purchase your British Fencing membership.

​

01 — Visit British Fencing

 

Go to the British Fencing website and select “Become a Member”.

​

You will be taken to the British Fencing membership page, where you can view the different membership options available.

​

​

02 — Create Your Account

 

If you already have a British Fencing Sport:80 account, log in using your existing details.

​

If you are new to British Fencing:

  1. Select “Sign Up” for the appropriate membership.

  2. Create your account using your email address.

  3. Enter your personal details.

  4. Follow the instructions to complete your registration.

  5. Check your email and activate your account if required.​

​

Once your account is set up, you can continue with your membership purchase.

​

03 — Choose Your Membership

 

British Fencing offers several membership categories, including Introduction, Starter, Recreational and Compete memberships.

​

The membership you need depends on how you intend to participate in fencing.

​

New to Fencing?

If you are completely new to fencing and have never previously held British Fencing membership, you may be eligible for the free 90-day Introduction Membership. This is available to new fencers at affiliated British Fencing clubs.

​

Want to Compete?

If you intend to enter fencing competitions, you will generally need an appropriate Compete membership. Always check the current requirements for the specific competition you are entering.

04 — Select Your Membership

 

Choose the membership category that is appropriate for you.

​

Check:

​

  • Your age category

  • The type of fencing you intend to participate in

  • Whether you want to compete

  • The membership price

  • The membership period

 

British Fencing's membership prices and categories can change, so always check the current information before purchasing.

​

​

05 — Complete Your Details

 

Follow the instructions on Sport:80 to complete your membership information.

 

Make sure your personal details are correct before continuing.

 

If you are asked to select or affiliate with a club, make sure you select the appropriate University of Exeter Fencing Club affiliation where applicable.

​

06 — Check Your Membership

 

Before paying, check that you have selected the correct British Fencing membership.

​

Make sure:

​

  • Your name and personal details are correct

  • You have selected the correct membership category

  • The price is correct

  • Any required club affiliation has been selected

 

If everything is correct, continue to checkout.

 

 

07 — Pay for Your Membership

 

If your chosen membership requires payment:

  1. Continue to checkout.

  2. Check the total price.

  3. Complete your payment details.

  4. Confirm your purchase.

 

If you are eligible for the free Introduction Membership, there is no membership fee for the 90-day period.

You're Ready to Fence! 🤺

 

Once your British Fencing membership is active, you're ready to take part in the activities covered by your membership.

​

Remember that British Fencing membership and UoEFC club membership are separate. You may need both to participate in certain club activities or competitions.

​

For BUCS and other competitions, membership and eligibility requirements can vary. Always check the latest competition regulations before entering.
